Don't know whether I am feeling happy, sad, or mutual about my whole return to Japan, but one thing is certain, I know I miss home. Japan has been an incredible, amazing, experience, but I have decided that as soon as my year contract is up, I'm moving back.

I did juggle the thought of maybe staying in Japan for a few extra months, maybe even another year, but I keep coming back to the realization of how much I want to be back in the States where my closest friends, relatives, my dog, and not to forget, my Jeep are all waiting for me.

I feel like I have learned so much and I know I will carry that with me for years to come. I think one year will suffice despite all odds and a few idiots telling me a year isn't impressive enough.

Also being in Japan has sparked an increased interest in my world. When I was home, I never read the newspaper past the funnies, now I find myself subscribed to the New York Times and reading up on daily world events as much as possible. Also sad to admit, I know little to no geography, so I decided to start studying up on that too. When I get home, I want to learn Spanish and take a martial art.

My revisions on Sincarian are FINALLY done and now with my editor aka mom. Hopefully there will be no more glaring inconsistencies that will drive me crazy. Now that the revisions are done, I'll start working on Halcyon a bit more. Expect to see more updates on that.

So where does all this leave me? Six months into my stay in Japan, six months left to go. Still can't form a sentence in Japanese to save my life. Miss home, but know it won't be long till I go back. Maybe wiser to the world and changed for the better.

I'd say I've done pretty well.
